My Reason to Relay

Welcome to my page!

\\"4 years 8 months and 16 day from diagnose. 3 years 10 months 7 days cancer free.\\"

I\\'m participating in an American Cancer society Relay for Life event, and I\\'m hoping you will support me.

On September 3, 2013, I was diagnose with stage 4 colon cancer during a routine colonoscopy. Once diagnose I immediately scheduled for surgery to have it removed on September 23, 2013, after having surgery to remove the cancer from my colon, I was preparing to start chemo, then I was diagnose with Stage 4 liver cancer, on November 18, 2013 I had surgery to remove that cancer. I start chemo December 18, 2013 and what a jounrey this has been. Chemo done June 11, 2014. Victory in Jesus Christ, Jehovah Ropha, my healer.

October 2016, I NOW HAVE A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH, what i have learned in the past year is that I am truly blessed with family and friends who care for me, I have no medical bills to be paid, but not all who go through this disease can say the same, so I relay for them to be able to have support and help during this time.

We all know someone who has battled cancer. It could be a relative, a friend, a coworker or maybe you yourself. The Relay for Life movement gives everyone an opportunity to come together to make a difference and fight back. At our Relay for Life event, we honor cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease, the caregivers and raise funds and awareness to help end cancer forever.

At the event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society in the world\\'s largest fight against cancer.

Our team is taking action to help finish the fight. Please join our team or make a donation because saving lives from cancer starts with one team, one participant, and one dollar at a time.

HOW FUNDRAISING IMPACTS YOUR COMMUNITY

Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.

$410 million as of

1.34 million in 2017

Calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support.

Nearly
452 thousand in 2017

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
