How We Relay
On May 30, 2014 I was diagnosed with Acute Meyloid Leukemia. I knew then that my life was going to change. My first thought was, what did I do to deserve this? I wasn't ready to lose my family, so I researched AML on the internet. I read some articles, and some amazing stories of people who were able to overcome and defeat this horrible disease. At that moment, I decided that I was going to be a survivor! I am going to see my daughters graduate, I am going to walk them down the aisle, and I am going to be there for my wife through it all. It wasn't going to be easy, but I was ready for the fight!
Six months of chemo, numerous transfusions, a few infections, and 10 days in a coma, couldn't stop me from my goal to be a survivor. And who was there through it all? My beautiful wife and daughters, my amazing family, and the best friends that a man could ask for! And today, I am on my way to being five years cancer-free!
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join Relay For Life. This fundraiser is a community-based event, which means no two Relays are the same, but they all support the American Cancer Society’s mission.
Funds raised support cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research that can help save lives. This event also celebrates over 15.5 million cancer survivors nationwide. 15.5 MILLION. That’s huge. That’s why I’d love your support. Will you walk with me? And if you can’t would you be so kind as to make a donation?
Thank you! I love you all!

Be The First To DonateCancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Funding potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.
Calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support.
Nights of free lodging provided to patients at Hope Lodge® communities.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
