Over the last couple of months – our family’s lives have been flipped upside down. Our father, Mark, became ill 1/11/2022. He collapsed while at work and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He had emergency surgery on 1/15/2022 to remove a large mass from his small bowel. The doctor told him without the surgery he would have bled to death within that week. He was told that the mass was cancer before he even had the surgery. It was soon confirmed that he has Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma). He has been recovering at home postoperatively and has been to many doctors’ appointments and testing over the last 2 months in preparation for chemotherapy. He had to be fully recovered from surgery before starting chemotherapy. It seems like every week there is a bump in the road that delays him starting chemotherapy. He just finished two iron infusions over the last couple of weeks. Most recently he had a PET Scan and an abscess was found in his right upper quadrant. This abscess needs drained and evaluated, again delaying his start of chemotherapy. Throughout all of this – he has been unable to work. Until 1/11/2022 – our father has not missed a day of work since 1988. Continued prayers are always welcome and we will update you all as we know more ❤️

Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
As of January 2022, we have invested $400 M for potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.
We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021
Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
