Relay and the All-Stars

Relay 2023 is coming up very quickly! Relay for Life is the top fundraising activity for the American Cancer Society (ACS). This is the 38th year for Relay!! Howard County Relay for Life is in its 28th year. We want to continue this tradition and help raise money for Cancer research, awareness, and advocacy. Our team 86, the All-Stars started out as a Meijer team with corporate sponsorship shortly after Relay came to Howard County. We're still mainly made up of Meijer team members and their families, but Meijer now donates a lump sum ($250,000) directly to ACS, and it's distributed among all of the counties that have Meijer stores. The All-Stars have had several team captains. Your current Captain (Jen) and Co-captain (Julie) started out as just team members in 2003, making this their 21st Relay. Jen was co-captain in 2007 and became captain in 2008 making Julie her co-captain. Each of us have our own reason(s) for caring about the fight against Cancer, but it seems that we all know someone personally who's battled this disease. Relay for Life is about so much more than just walking around a track overnight. Relay is about CELEBRATing loved ones who have won their battle with cancer, REMEMBERing those who are no longer with us, supporting those who are fighting now, and raising money and awareness to FIGHT BACK against this disease that has taken so much from so many. Together, we are saving lives & "creating a world with more birthdays"!!
