Why We Formed a Relay For Life Fundraising Team

Welcome to Alex's Warriors team page! Cancer has touched too many of our lives. It specifically touched ours when in 2003 our son Alex, at the age of 3, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. He had 2 brain surgeries and 6 rounds of chemotherapy. Then in 2005 he was diagnosed with a recurrence and underwent chemotherapy followed by 6 weeks of radiation. Today Alex is a healthy, happy, very blessed 15 year old. He loves fishing and metal detecting with his Dad. He is a wonderful young man who is kind to everyone and loves putting on fundraisers for the Relay For Life as well as the American Childhood Cancer Organization. Please help Alex raise more money this year than ever before. We would love for you to donate to his team. Just go on the shenandoah county relay for life website and look up Alex's Warriors team to make a donation. We really appreciate it!! And please come out Relay night, June 3rd at the Massanutten Military Academy and cheer Alex on as his does his victory survivor's lap!! Thank you in advance for helping Alex's team!!

Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.

As of January 2022, we have invested $400 M for potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.

We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021

229K+

Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
