Relay RewardsStrike Out Cancer
The Virginia Wesleyan Softball program will be hosting its 13th annual Strike Out Cancer day in memory of Elaine F. Sears on Saturday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. All proceeds from this event will go to the American Cancer Society specifically towards cancer research.
This year’s event will be full of fun for the entire family. Aside from the emotional presentation on the field before the Virginia Wesleyan Softball double header, the day will be filled with music, activities for all ages, food and a Silent Auction with over 50 items.
We are currently looking for donated items that can be used in our Silent Auction, or food and drink items that could be used at our concessions. Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are available and all donors will be recognized in the Strike Out Cancer program. All donated items would need to be received or picked up no later that Monday, April 10th.
Your participation, sponsorship or donation to this event is going directly to the American Cancer Society. Funds received from our Strike Out Cancer day will help us create more birthdays by continuing the fight against this terrible disease.

Since her death in September of 2008, the Marlins have raised over $180,000 for the American Cancer Society and have set a goal of $30,000 for the 2023 event.
As always, your sponsorship and/or donation will be a tax deduction for you or your business. Upon receipt of your gift, the American Cancer Society will follow up with a thank you letter and information regarding how to claim your deduction. Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
As of January 2022, we have invested $400 M for potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.
We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021
Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

Relay RewardsThis isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
This tool allows event managers to edit sections of the event website. Here’s how:
It’s that easy! Throughout the year, we’ll unlock more sections and add features to this tool in order to improve your ability to manage your event website.
