Welcome to team Ella-minate cancer!!! Hi everyone! Thanks so much for checking out my page and learning more about why I relay. Similar to so many of you reading this, my journey with relay has been very personal -- my grandpa had battled cancer almost my whole life, and my great grandma passed away from pancreatic cancer when I was in elementary school. These experiences affected me in many ways, especially since I didn't understand why my grandpa was constantly sick and battling through treatments when I was younger. As I have learned more and seen more family, friends, and loved ones battle cancer, I realized that I wanted to make a difference.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for checking out my page and learning more about why I relay. Similar to so many of you reading this, my journey with relay has been very personal -- my grandpa had battled cancer almost my whole life, and my great grandma passed away from pancreatic cancer when I was in elementary school. These experiences affected me in many ways, especially since I didn't understand why my grandpa was constantly sick and battling through treatments when I was younger. As I have learned more and seen more family, friends, and loved ones battle cancer, I realized that I wanted to make a difference.
Why I Relay
I Relay not only to honor my grandpa and great grandpa, but to fight for a future where cancer treatments aren't unaffordable and a diagnosis doesn't have to take a huge emotional toll on families. I currently am in research labs that look at cancer immunotherapies, and hope that I can earn my MD-PhD in the future to contribute more to the innovative solutions to cancer diagnoses. I have been part of relay for life since high school, and each event gives me a chance to spread hope, remembarance, and inspire the next generation of relay participants :)
