Relay RewardsTeam Sammie
Hello I'm. Sammie a 49 year old mother to 3 daughters, a stepson and a step daughter. I have 7 grandchildren. Thanksgiving of 2022 was the last time I felt semi normal. I had not been feeling the best but was ok. A few days after Thanksgiving I got a stomach bug, I just never seemed to recover from. I went to the er three days before my 48th birthday. It was there I heard the word cancer. It shook me to my core, but I had to stay strong and move forward. In January 2023 I found out I have incurable cancer, difuss follicular center lymphoma (b cell non hodkins). I have completed 5 rounds of chemotherapy that took 7 months due to hospital admissions and my body did not tolerating it well. I was severely neuropenic. I am at a watch and wait stage currently until my body heals and my cancer grows big enough again or appears somewhere else. Everyday I wait and worry. This is so financially draining and mentally exhausting. I'm very thankful for my local cancer society. Please donate I really want to do this and meet and exceed my goal .

Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
As of January 2022, we have invested $400 M for potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.
We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021
Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

Relay RewardsThis isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
