Making Our Mark
We are Making Our Mark! The McGraw family began attending Relay for Life over a decade ago in 2008 with the support of Angela McGraw Sr., our mom, who was an active member of the Millbridge Militia, a team who represented Delran’s local elementary school where she worked as a teacher’s aid in a special needs classroom. As time passed and our family evolved, so did our team names and members. It wasn’t until 2013 when our mom was diagnosed with stage IV inflammatory breast cancer that a real team name finally came to be. The name “Making Our Mark” was chosen not only because of the impact we make at Relay, but because it also stands for MOM, something that we all appreciated and loved. Today our family continues to carry that name in honor of Angela McGraw Sr. who passed away a year after her diagnosis in 2014. Since then, our father, Stanley McGraw III, and Angela Jr.'s husband, Matt, have both been diagnosed with cancer as well and we have also lost our dear Uncle Lou. Making Our Mark has been actively participating in Relay for Life events since then and is composed of friends and family who loved, knew, and miss Angela Sr. and also support Stanley and Matt. While Relaying may not always be easy, we do our best to carry the memories and love of our mom with us each step we take. We also try to carry her sense of humor. You may have noticed a unique team member of ours named Felicity. She is our giraffe mascot that was gifted to Angela at a benefit held in our mom’s honor. Felicity has become one of the most important team members and travels to every fundraiser and Relay with us as a reminder of our mom’s love of all creatures, children, and of life itself.

Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Since 1991 we have invested $3.43 billion in cancer research.
We have received over 360,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2023.
Cancer patients benefited from the ACS transportation support through our Road To Recovery program and transportation grants in 2023, with nearly 769,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
