It’s time again for the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay For Life - Cancer never takes a break, so Sam’s Team keeps on walking every year to help raise money to fight the battle against cancer! There will be walking, entertainment, fun snacks, bounce house, games and the memorable and beautiful luminaria ceremony.
On Saturday, June 24th SAM’S TEAM will be walking from 2pm-10pm at North Boundary Park on the Relay track wearing our Super Sam shirts. Sam’s Team will take turns keeping someone on the trail for the entire event rain or shine.
We are walking again to remember Sam, our son who died from brain cancer in 2002 while he was in 1st grade. We are also walking to remember John, our dad and grandpa, who died from leukemia in July 2020.
We have done this event for 22 years and we walk each year to remember and honor… Sam who fought against brain cancer and all children diagnosed with any pediatric cancer John who fought against leukemia he NEVER missed a single relay event and was our faithful team member, father, grandfather, husband, friend Family members who have battled brain cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, colon cancer and melanoma Friends who have been diagnosed with all kinds of cancers including liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostrate cancer, leukemia, lymphoma…and so on
We hope you will consider sponsoring us in memory of Sam and John. All donations to SAM’S TEAM go to the American Cancer Society to cure cancer and offer support programs for those battling cancer.
In 2022, Sam’s Team raised more than $22,000 for the ACS, with Sam’s Team having a lifetime total of raising $220,000 to help win this fight. In 2023, our goal is to reach $23,000!
The relay is a fun and meaningful family tradition for us, and we are participating again to make sure that cancer research, outreach and programs continue. Many thanks to all of our family, friends and supporters who have helped us remember Sam and John in this way!
