Cancer has touched all of us in some way. Team Giraffe is devoted to doing everything we can to fight this disease and we want to stop this disease in its tracks. The upcoming Thurston County Relay For Life event will be taking place Summer 2023. The location is TBD. There is no off season for cancer so there’s no off season for Team Giraffe either. A world-wide pandemic isn’t going to stop us and we will do what we can to help fight this disease and win this battle. But why a giraffe you wonder? Excellent question! Not only is the giraffe a beautiful creature but it holds uplifting and positive symbolism too. There is no other animal on the planet with such a unique look and extraordinary appearance. The giraffe symbolizes beauty, intuition, gentle behavior, perception and patience. The tallness of the giraffe symbolizes looking to the future, seeing the “big picture”, ambition, sure-footedness, elegance and pride. Giraffes are also a symbol to raise your head and stand tall. No matter what path our life journey leads us on we should always strive to be a giraffe and always stand tall to rise above it all. We’d love to have you join our Team Giraffe and walk with us in honor of those who won the battle of cancer, for those who are currently experiencing cancer or in memory of those who are no longer with us because of cancer.
