Why do we Relay?
We've been there when friends and family were diagnosed. We've held hands, driven to appointments, made dinners and anything else that had to be done to help our loved ones through their cancer battle. Through Relay, we remember those we've lost, honor the ones that have fought and won and assist others going through it right now.
The money we raise goes to support patient services like the 24 hour helpline (800-227-5558), research for early detection methods (you can thank ACS for pap smears) and clinical trials vital to paving the way for treatment options. The funds also support the Hope Lodge right here in Omaha where cancer patients and their caregivers can stay free of charge when traveling more than 50 miles for treatments. A huge relief to have the comforts of home instead of taking a long grueling car ride after chemo or radiation.
Donate or dedicate a luminaria and join us at Stinson Park on Saturday, June 22nd 9am-12pm for this years Relay for Life! Family friendly, kids activities, food trucks and a fun way to fight back against a disease that has taken too much from too many.
