We are making a difference by teaming up to participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Wayne County NC
Each year for the past 9 years we have embarked on a very arduous journey. A journey that will test the limits of our physical and mental abilities. We will face uncertainty and we may even question our faith. Each day will present obstacles that we never imagined we would encounter and we will sometimes struggle to overcome them. We will end the day completely exhausted and labor to our feet to meet the challenge of another. ...
As we agonize to make it through each day, we will sometimes have to battle alone, but never too far away will be others who are making their own journey suffering the same kinds of pain. We may feel like giving up, but that is when we dig in deep and make a stand. We will reach out to family, friends and complete strangers, for support and words of encouragement. They will be our comfort when we think we have no other.
In the end how hard we fight may not determine if we survive and complete this journey, some things are just out of our hands and must be left to the mercy of a higher power. With all the advances in modern medicine, sometimes the only medicine that works is hope.
This is the peril of each person that is diagnosed with cancer. April 3rd through the 11th Team Hope Floats NC will be kayaking 208 miles from Raleigh to Oriental, NC. An 8 day journey along the Neuse River in Eastern North Carolina. The trials and tribulations we will encounter on the trip we are undertaking pale in comparison. As we take this journey together, we will never lose sight of why we are making it. We are paddling to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. We are paddling to remember loved ones lost. We are paddling to fight back against the disease. We are paddling to give HOPE!
On April 3rd you can follow our journey at hopefloatsnc.com. We will have a live map you can follow, send words of encouragement, and see pictures taken during the journey. Please support us in our efforts by joining our team or making a donation. The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone!
Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
As of January 2022, we have invested $400 M for potentially lifesaving cancer research grants.
We have received over 250,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2021
Cancer patients benefited from ACS transportation support through our Road TO Recovery program and transportation grants in 2021, with nearly 229,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

Relay RewardsThis isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
