The Second Life Cheerleading Squad, also known as SLCS, is Second Life's premiere and oldest professional performing cheer squads, founded in 2007. Our squad members are some of the most talented entertainers in Second Life and enjoy being part of something that encourages teamwork and forges long-lasting friendships in a friendly sorority atmosphere. Relay For Life is a cause near and dear to the hearts of many of our squad. Cancer has affected too many people we love, and several members of the squad itself. We relay to celebrate survivors, remember those we've lost, and offer support to our SL community. Some of the money raised by Relay For Life comes back to Second Life, where the American Cancer Society region is THE official 'virtual office' of the Society, offering residents support, information, and other resources to aid them in fighting and avoiding cancer.
