We've formed this team because cancer has touched all of us in some way, whether it's a player, a player's mom, a player's dad, a player's aunt, a player's uncle, a player's grandmother, a player's grandfather, a player's cousin, a coach, a coach's relative...you get the idea. Whether we're fighting against cervical cancer, gallbladder and bile duct cancer, colorectal cancer, kidney cancer, multiple myeloma, anal cancer, esophageal cancer, testicular cancer, head and neck cancer, skin cancer, brain cancer, melanoma, bladder cancer, sarcoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), childhood cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, prostate cancer, thyroid cancer, breast cancer, male breast cancer, metastatic breast cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, carcinoid cancer, neuroendocrine tumors... there are too many to name, and so many reasons to fight.
Relay for Life unites the community in support of people facing cancer and their families. Together, our hockey community can inspire hope and courage for all people who are living with, going through, and moving past cancer. We are going to spend the next several months fundraising for the American Cancer Society and on May 3rd, we will walk for 12 hours during the Relay for Life.
The money our team raises helps the American Cancer Society in so many ways. It's helping fund innovative research. It's providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It's providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. Please consider donating to Team SC Flyers and helping advance the cause.
