Saras Acts of Kindness
We relay in honor of Sara Willis. Sara was diagnosed with a Bifocal Pure Germinoma, a type of brain cancer, at 14 years old. Sara was heartbroken, but you wouldn't know that if you met her. She was always smiley and kind. She loved to give compliments, constantly looked for gifts to give others, and always made a point to spread joy to those around her. She did all of this before, during, and after cancer. After her first battle with cancer, she replased. Her second battle was a painful jouney. Heartbreakingly, she lost her battle to brain cancer in November 22, 2018 at the young age of 18. Sara never got to go to college, but we know that we college students have the power to share Sara's legacy and make a difference in her name. Sara was a kind and generous person who advocated for everyone around her, and that is what our relay team strives to do in her honor.

Thank you for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
Cancer hits far too close to home, so the funds you raise will help do the same. Through services and resources like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline, cancer patients and their families will feel the love. Here’s how recent money raised has been put to incredible uses.
Since 1991 we have invested $3.43 billion in cancer research.
We have received over 360,000 calls and chats from patients and caregivers seeking support in 2023.
Cancer patients benefited from the ACS transportation support through our Road To Recovery program and transportation grants in 2023, with nearly 769,000 rides provided.
Many thanks to our generous sponsors for fueling the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

This isn’t what I wanted.
Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We'll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we'll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
Together, we'll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
