Robert S. Gombos (Bob) passed away in his home in Mount Airy, MD. He is survived by his wife, Marylouise, his sister, Suzanne Schott and her family, and his three children and their families: Steve Gombos, Todd Gombos, and Jennifer Breaux; grandchildren David Gombos, Stevie Gombos, Nicole Bitto, Gabrielle Gombos, Hannah Albino, Michael Gombos, and Marc Breaux; and great grandchildren Antonia and Dominic Gombos.

Bob was born in Clarksville, Tennessee to parents, Stephen and Julia Gombos. He graduated from Palmerton High School and Lafayette College.

Robert and Marylouise raised their three children, Steve, Todd, and Jenn, in Palmerton, Berwick, and Slatington, PA.

Bob enjoyed an excellent 39 year career with PPL Electric working in various areas of the company ultimately becoming an Executive Vice President. He also was very involved in community activities ranging from state and local organizations and causes. Among those were service on private industry groups, school boards, hospital boards, and his goal of transforming Blue Ridge Country Club into an affordable 18 hole golf club. In retirement, he enjoyed time with his family and especially golfing with the guys in Fort Myers, FL and at Woodstone Golf Club where he was a member for the last twenty years.

Bob was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bladder Cancer in January 2021. He hoped your donations would lead to advances in earlier detection and treatment to extend life. Bob wanted nothing more than to be with his family as long as he could and is hopeful that contributions to cancer research and treatment will enable others to spend more time with loved ones.
