In 1990, Joyce was diagnosed with liver cancer. Twelve doctors in Los Angeles told her that she had 6 months to live.
She and my father would not accept that and contacted a surgeon friend of theirs in Aurora, Il. Dr. S. pointed them in the direction of a surgeon in San Diego. To make a long story short; she beat the cancer and was able to live cancer-free, until heart disease took her away from us on July 6, 2013.
Joyce was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who all love her and will miss her forever.
